Eritrea: Dam in Adi-Teklai Reconstructed At 3.4 Million Nakfa
Asmara - The dam in Adi-Teklai area, Central region, has been upgraded to triple capacity at an expenditure of 3.4 million Nakfa. Reports further disclosed that the 2Km-long dirt road has also been renovated.
Mr. Abraham Daniel, head of the Agriculture Ministry's branch in the region, explained that the dam has a capacity of irrigating 12 hectares, in addition to the volume it has secured for potable water supply. He also lauded the active participation of Adi-Teklai inhabitants in the process of its reconstruction.
The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, inaugurated the dam, and called on the inhabitants to practice its prudent utilization and extend a helping hand in the afforestation of the area around it.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants commended the Public Transport Technique Center for renovating the dirt road to their village, the erosion of which has been causing transport problems after the rainy season. Among the inhabitants, Ms. Genet Gebremariam, Ms. Zufan Ogbamichael and Mr. Atsmegiorgis Fisehatsion expressed satisfaction with the development accomplishments registered in the locality.
