Mzizima Towers Project in Tanzania Advances with Strong Construction Progress

Tanzania is making strong progress on the 322.02bn/- Mzizima Towers Project. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare and Community Development has praised both the pace and quality of the ongoing works, describing the project as a key strategic investment for the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and the country.

 
During a site visit in Dar es Salaam in March, Committee Chairperson Hawa Chakoma commended the efficiency of the construction activities and acknowledged the government’s support in ensuring the project’s continuity. She noted that the development is progressing well and is expected to deliver long-term economic value.
 
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations), Deus Sangu, confirmed that the project remains on track for completion by December 31, 2026, with over 201.43bn/- already invested. He added that the development has been assessed as economically viable, with projected cost recovery within 14 years.
 
The large-scale construction project comprises two high-rise towers, a 35 storey commercial building and a 32 storey residential tower covering approximately 95,018 square metres. The complex will include office spaces, retail outlets, conference facilities, parking areas, and a five-star hotel.Once completed, the development is expected to boost Tanzania’s construction, tourism, and business sectors.
