NHC projects 1.0 trillion/- investment by 2015
National Housing Corporation (NHC) is optimistic that its total project investment will grow to 1.0 trillion/- next year, up from 800bn/- this year due to improved infrastructure in the country.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam over the weekend during the Expo builds and auto mart exhibitions, NHC Director General, Nehemiah Mchechu said project investments are growing fast without relying on the government.
He said the corporate project investments have now reached 600bn/-, calling on the private sector to continue investing in building materials. He noted that many people have started investing in construction of good houses.
For his part, Exhibition Manager, Neville Trindade said the exhibitions aim to provide opportunity for East African companies to source new products, equipment and technology from the global market.
He said Tanzania is undergoing rapid development in its infrastructure, urbanisation, economic zone, industrial parks, commercial and residential buildings and tourism resorts.
It was estimated that the value of Tanzania’s infrastructure industry and construction industry would double from 2010 to 2015.
The exhibition has brought together over 50 international companies from 20 countries including South Africa, Germany, China, India, Thailand, and United Kingdom as Tanzania hosts the exhibitions for the third time.
