Kenya: KQ to Build Upmarket Lounge At New Terminal

NATIONAL Carrier Kenya Airways plans to build two modern lounges at the upcoming passenger terminal at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to improve service to its business class and elite customers.

KQ marketing manager Julius Mburu has said the new lounges will complement the services of the existing Simba lounge at the old JKIA terminal.

JKIA is currently undergoing expansion to accomodate the growing number of passengers that use the airport annually. The airport is KQ's hub and as such the airline has secured prime areas within the terminal that is under construction to boost its services.

"The lounges will have a massage parlour, sauna, sleeping area and showers and a big enough eating area to accomodate many passengers. It will be a very high end product," said Mburu.

The airline said it is also looking forward to increased aircraft parking bays at the country's main airport.
