Nigeria: NSE Market Indices Rise By 1.4 Percent

A total of 622.32 million shares worth N4.9 billion were traded in 7,447 deals on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
This was against the 822.69 million shares valued at N5.1 billion traded in 7,380 deals on Tuesday. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the All- Share Index, which opened at 29.686.94, appreciated by 406.89 points to close at 30,093.83.
Similarly, the market capitalisation appreciated by N13 billion or 1.4 per cent to close at N9.624 trillion from the N9.494 trillion recorded on Tuesday.
Nestle recorded the highest price gain of N24 to close at N740 per share. NewGold followed with N5 to close at N2, 546 per unit, while UACN grew by N4.30 to close at N47.30 per share.
Dangote Cement appreciated by N4.05 to close at N130.05 per share, while PZ Cussons gained N2.81 to close at N30.93 per share. On the other hand, Nigerian Breweries led the losers’ chart with N1.50 to close at N150 per share.
Unilever trailed with N1.10 to close at N42.90 per share, while GTBank dropped 45k to close at N25.10 per share.

Skye Bank depreciated by 25k to close at N5.90 per share, while ETI dipped by 22k to close at N11.64 per share. (NAN)
