A look at Discoverys new multi-million rand headquarters in Cape Town

Financial services firm Discovery is set to relocate its Cape Town staff into a new office development in Century City.

Being developed by the Rabie Property Group at a cost of R460 million, Sable Park will comprise two four storey buildings of 8,000 square metres and 8,300 square metres respectively, each with two levels of underground parking.

The Sable Park development marks the second major development for Discovery, with construction on its R3 billion headquarters in Sandton, Johannesburg, set to be completed before the end of the year.

According to Rabie, Discovery’s Cape Town staff will relocate from their current site as the existing lease is expiring. The company will occupy the larger of the two buildings.

The second building is being designed to be flexible and can be sub-divided to accommodate smaller firms, the group said.

Sable Park is situated in the all-green Bridgeways precinct which has become the new commercial and hospitality hub of Century City.

The precinct is home to a number of other blue chip companies including the new Absa regional offices, Chevron, Philip Morris, the Business Centre, Thomson Reuters, Mastercard, Derivco, Northfund, Glad Africa and the Rabie Property Group, among others, the developers said.

Here is how the building is expected to look upon completion, with construction already well underway.
