Africa largest resort to open in 2020

A luxury resort, set to be Africa’s largest, will open in 2020, spanning an incredible 3,756 acres and will even boasts to having its own airport.

Thanks to its mammoth size, the resort will practically be its own city. Visitors can expect a golf course, a marine park, a facility for yachts, an underwater nightclub and restaurant, a marketplace and an equestrian centre.

The community will also have medical facilities and a private international school.

Tourists will also have the option to choose from five renowned international hotels which will sit on the grounds. This includes the Ritz Carlton, Zanzibar, which will be an all-suite and villa resort with over 90 rooms and water-front water villas that each have their own private pool.

Unsurprisingly, there’s quite the anticipation surrounding the new Zanzibar Amber Resort, with many predicting it will revolutionise East African tourism.

But it isn’t just aimed at those wanting a vaccay. In fact, there will be 3,440 luxury apartments and penthouses to choose from and for the first time in history, non-Tanzanian residents will have the opportunity to purchase a residential property in Zanzibar.

Aside from providing thousands of jobs, the entity of the Zanzibar Amber Resort is also set on sustainably and economically transforming the surrounding impoverished communities.

“We have proper social responsibility programs and we have budgets 30 million dollars for the next 15 years on programs for sanitation, school programs and scholarships,” Managing Director Saleh said in a promotional video for the resort.

The first residential property is due to open this year, while the full completion is expected by 2020.
