Niger State to Build N19.6 Billion Hotel
Minna — The Niger State government has concluded arrangements to spend N19. 6 billion on the construction of a five star hotel under Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Minna, the state capital. This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Trade and Investment, Yahaya Dansallau, yesterday during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the state government and the construction company that will handle the project, Access Field Nigeria Limited.
The commissioner said the seven story building which is expected to be completed within 24 months would have 305 rooms.
He reiterated the need for the project to be executed within the stipulated time frame and in accordance with the specifications, adding that the state government had constituted a seven man committee to oversee the project.
According to him, the project was awarded under a concession agreement between the state government and the company handling the project, where the project will be executed under the plant form of Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT).
He said the company that handled the project will run the hotel for 25 years after which its ownership would be transferred to the state government.
