Kenya: French Firm to Build Low Cost Houses

A French construction firm is carrying feasibility studies in Busia county to build cheaper houses for residents. The team from Group Renouveau Habitat International paid a courtesy call on Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa yesterday.

They were led by the company President and CEO Frederic Bourguet-Maurice and chief finance officer Jacqueline Thormities. Frederic said the company is dedicated to quality construction and client satisfaction.

He said this comprisesinvolvement of professional architects, engineers and builders. Frederic said the team will work with the local community in quality houses. He said the company hascsimilar projects in four other African countries including Angola, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Gabon.

Frederic said thecompnay is the only one in the world that does not only utilise but also manufactures its own Fiber Reinforced Insulated Panels. "Through GRH's fabrication and use of Ec3 Panels, we have created a dynamic solution to the processing needs that face many construction projects.

Wangalwa said the county government welcomes the French firm's interest in the project. "The company should also have obligations to undertake market research that will create employment for residents," he said.
