Angola: Construction of International Relations Institute to Begin Soon
The minister of Foreign Affairs, Georges Chikoti, announced Friday in Luanda that the works of the new Institute of International Relations should start shortly after the completion's review this year of the course plan.
The Cabinet minister announced this while addressing the ceremony of awarding certificates to the finalists of VI Course of the International Relations Institute, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs facility.
In his speech, the Cabinet minister pointed out that the institute allows not only the training of staff of the Foreign Ministry (Mirex), but also those from other institutions sharing some aspects of International Relations.
He also referred to the efforts the Ministry has undertaken toward creation of conditions so that this institution can function properly.
On the other hand, Georges Chikoti praised the Board of the institute for reorganisation and sitting, in short time, of its character, as well as its integration in relationship with the Ministry of Higher Education.
Forty-one graduate students received Friday their diplomas in a ceremony attended by the Secretaries of State for Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto and Angela Bragança.
The president of the 5th Commission of the National Assembly, Exalgina Gamboa, Police General Commander, Ambrósio de Lemos, diplomats, senior officials of the Foreign Ministry, among other guests also attended the ceremony.
Created 13 years ago, the institution has trained so far 296 graduates.
