Angola: Education Minister for Expansion of Programmes to Build New Schools

Ondjiva - Angolan minister of Education, Pinda Simão, considered Tuesday in Ondjiva, southern Cunene province, necessary to expand the government programmes for building more secondary education institutions, giving new opportunity to integrate youth and increase their academic training.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an assessment visit to some high schools, the minister assured that his institution will work on the expansion of the school network.

So, the minister said that it is intended to integrate a higher education institution, with a view to allowing final year students of basic education to pursue with their studies without travelling to other parts of the country.


"Among other tasks, our goal is to check the operation of secondary schools, to follow up their teaching role in young people coming from primary school and who want to continue attending the higher education and integrate the job market for their well-being ", he said.

The agenda also includes visit on Wednesday to Higher Education Institute for Teachers' Training, followed by an assessment meeting with the local government officials.
