Nigeria: Group Launches N250 Million Quranic Studio

The Goni Abacha Quranic Studios in Kano is to build a state-of-the-art studio for the recording and compilation of Quran recitations.
 
The group said in a statement by the Secretary of the Board of Trustee, Malam Muhammad G. Abacha, that the project would gulp N250 million and that the launching event has been slated for February 5, 2013 in Abuja.
 
The group said the project when completed would "promote the holy Quran's recitation and memorization as well as strengthen peaceful co-existence among various religions in Nigeria."
 

He said the idea of establishing the studio dated back to 2007, saying it was intended to encourage Quran recitation in the country.
