Kano to Build Houses for Flood Victims

Kano — Kano State Governor Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso has assured victims of the flood disaster in the state of his administration's readiness to construct houses for them. The governor gave the assurance while receiving a delegation of elders from Warawa Local Government Area of the state when they visited him.

He lamented that during his first tenure, houses were built by his administration for flood victims in villages in Warawa Local Government, but that the people returned to their old homes, a development which accor-ding to him made them victims of flood again.

He therefore cautioned the people against returning to their ancestral homes after the new houses have been built for them. Kwankwaso added that plans are under way to modernize the headquarters of Makoda, Kunchi and Warawa Local Government Areas through reconstruction of houses.

"The aim is to give the three local govern-ment looks befitting of headquarters," he said.
